LCD yang dimaksud adalah LCD <em>alphanumeric<\/em> yang menggunakan kristal cair sebagai penampil data. Ukuran yang paling sering digunakan adalah 16&#215;2 dan 20&#215;4. Ukuran tersebut merepresentasikan jumlah kolom dan baris yang dimiliki LCD. Ukuran 16&#215;2 artinya LCD tersebut terdiri dari 16 kolom 2 baris, demikian pula halnya 20&#215;4 artinya LCD tersebut terdiri dari 20 kolom 4 baris. Ukuran ini dikenal juga sebagai screen resolutionnya, dengan resolusi karakter 5&#215;8 pixel. Penampakan LCD dapat dilihat pada gambar berikut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/galuhratna.alza.web.id\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/LCD16x2-Pins.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-722\" width=\"448\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/galuhratna.alza.web.id\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/LCD16x2-Pins.png 671w, https:\/\/galuhratna.alza.web.id\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/LCD16x2-Pins-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><figcaption>Liquid Crsytal Display (LCD) &#8211; sumber: https:\/\/www.electronicwings.com\/arduino\/lcd-16&#215;2-interfacing-with-arduino-uno<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>LCD memiliki 16 pin(kaki) yaitu :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>VSS, dihubungkan ke <em>ground<\/em><\/li><li>VCC, dihubungkan pada tegangan sumber 5 volt, karena LCD bekerja pada tegangan 5 volt. <\/li><li>VEE, dihubungkan ke potensiometer atau trimpot untuk mengatur gelap terangnya layar LCD. Pin ini disambungkan ke ground jika menginginkan layar LCD terang maksimal.<\/li><li><em>Register Select<\/em>(RS), dihubungkan ke mikrokontroler berfungsi mengontrol mode LCD. Jika RS diberikan logika 0 artinya LCD di<em>setting<\/em> untuk menerima perintah. Jika RS diberikan logika 1 artinya LCD di<em>setting<\/em> untuk menerima data.<\/li><li><em>Read\/Write<\/em>(RW), dihubungkan ke mikrokontroler berfungsi mengontrol mode LCD. Jika RW diberikan logika 1 mikrokontroler akan membaca data pada memori LCD. Jika RW diberikan logika 0, mikrokontroler akan menuliskan data pada LCD. Pin RW seringkali digroundkan untuk memberikan nilai 0, jika difungsikan sebagai display saja.<\/li><li><em>Enable<\/em>, dihubungkan dengan mikrokontroler sebagai toggle pengiriman data dan perintah ke LCD<\/li><li>Pin D0 &#8211; D7, merupakan pin data, untuk mengirimkan data yang akan ditampilkan pada LCD. Tedapat dua mode penyambungan LCD berkaitan dengan pin ini. Mode 8 bit, menggunakan keseluruhan pin data. Mode 4 bit, menggunakan 4 pin data saja yaitu: D4, D5, D6 dan D7.<\/li><li>LED, untuk <em>backlight<\/em>. Library ini sudah tersedia pada IDE Arduino dengan nama LiquidCrystal.
